- You own your Career Brain data. We have no claim on it.
- We operate on a best-effort basis — no uptime guarantee is made.
1Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use Prism Tree. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
2Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your password. If you sign in with Google, your authentication is governed by Google's Terms of Service in addition to these Terms.
3Acceptable Use
You agree to use Prism Tree for lawful personal or professional career-related purposes. You agree not to:

Don't store or process data belonging to other people without their explicit consent.
🚫 No scraping or bots
No automated scripts, bots, or systematic extraction of data from the service.
🚫 No unauthorized access
No attempts to access other users' data or circumvent security controls.
🚫 No illegal use
Don't use the service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
4AI Features & No Professional Advice
Prism Tree uses AI to generate career-related content — job fit scores, interview prep, cover letters, tailored resumes, and strategic career guidance.
AI output is not professional advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes career counseling, legal advice, financial advice, or any other form of licensed professional service. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation.
You are solely responsible for reviewing AI output before using it in any job application, interview, or professional context. We make no guarantee that use of Prism Tree will result in employment, interviews, or any specific career outcome.
5Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
If you provide an Anthropic or OpenAI API key, you are responsible for complying with the respective provider's terms of service, all API usage costs incurred under your key, and keeping your key secure. We store your key encrypted at rest and use it solely to make AI calls on your behalf.
6Your Data
You retain full ownership of the data you enter into Prism Tree. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you.

7Service Availability
We operate Prism Tree on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance or experience downtime without prior notice, and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
8Intellectual Property
The Prism Tree platform — including its interface, branding, and underlying technology — is the intellectual property of Prism Tree. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you, except for the limited right to use the Service as described herein.
9Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prism Tree and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $10 if you have not paid us anything).
10Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prism Tree and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
11Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately and your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.
12Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
